Puglia – the perfect place for a wedding

Puglia, also known as Apulia, is the least mountainous region of Italy, consisting of broad plains and low-lying hills. This area is one of the largest and most productive plains in Italy where a significant amount of both wine and olive oil is produced. There are miles and miles of unspoilt beaches, spectacular cliffs and rocky coves. This, together with superb weather, beautiful towns and lovely countryside, make Puglia a very popular wedding and honeymoon destination.

Puglia is among the richest of Italy’s regions in terms of archaeological sites, and boasts among its treasures two UNESCO heritage sites: Castel del Monte and the Trulli of Alberobello The third World Heritage site, known as Sassi di Matera, is just outside Puglia.

In Puglia, you’ll find some of the best examples of Baroque architecture in Italy, and in some areas with a mix with Middle East and Greek style, fascinating cities steeped in history, mysterious caves and monuments and a landscape dotted with ancient Greek and Neolithic archaeological sites. You will also find conical-roofed trulli houses (looks like hobbit houses!) and miles of sandy beaches.
